Finally, I can comment! I've been fangasming so hard about this one, you have NO idea. :XD: I still love it so so so dearly much! Gahhh~~~

Here is the detailed feedback I wrote for you~

What makes this so very in character:
Her expression is spot-on. It draws me in without fail. I am actually surprise to find you managed to capture it so well, because I am really a nit-picker when it comes to these things. Her eyes are beautifully large and I can tell you did pay extra attention to the lashes. (Making sure to capture the smokiness they help create.) The slight angle of her eyebrows is in between that of worry, sadness, slight interest and innocence, which I always feel when I look at my doll. I congratulate you on capturing this so well. I know that with eyebrows, the smallest change can pull forth a completely different expression.. so that you got it spot on, damn girl. XD I'm amazed for reals.

Moving on, I love the little detail of her lips where you left them slightly parted. It's not very noticeable at first, but it definitely adds to making her, /her/. It's just right.

And man, that hair. Good job taming that wild mountain of floof. XD I normally am not a big fan of curls, so I was really curious to see you do this. (Of course I've seen you do curls before, but still!) But you did it lovely. On one hand I feel the shape of her hair when she has it loose (without hair-clips) but I can also see a bit of the shape in her hair, when she does have them in. So it feels like you managed to combine both looks in this sketch, without actually adding the hair-clips. That's an achievement if you ask me? :"D

Her dress is very simple, without detail and that as well fits her fine. Sure, I have plenty of lolita-ish dresses with flower patterns for her.. but at the same time she does very well in a simple white dress or sleeping gown. I am actually a bit glad to see you went with simplicity, considering the amount of lines and shading you decided to use. There is already so much going on, that it would have pulled the attention away from the little details that are currently far more prominent. (As they should be. XD)

And then her posing. It's a really casual and simple pose, but I could easily see her sitting somewhere on the ground like this. In the asylum where she isn't being heard. Or on the streets, when she wanders around lost. Or even in a room in an inn for instance, observing the people as she sits quietly. Keeping the background neutral, it gives plenty of opportunity to fill in the blanks. Any of these situations can easily be imagined like this. :3

Something I also notice when looking at this image is her body shape. I am not sure if you paid a lot of attention to this all when you were drawing her, but when I look at her upper arm, I feel as if it is quite slim. Like there isn't a whole lot of muscle and meat on there. I kinda really like that. The doll is just an average body, but Aurora has not lived an average life. So in truth she should be on the skinny side until better times come. So to me that kind of added to the overall image. :) Added to this: I'm glad you kept her bust subtle. xD Hahaha! A sixteen year old malnourished girl deff won't have a large rack, so although the doll has a nice cup, I am glad the girl on the image isn't an exact copy of the doll. The dress mag create the illusion she is regular, but looking closely she appears thin and frail. Seriously. I love it.

Alright, last but not least I would like to comment on the style of art/material used. I often see your work and already having received some arts from you, I have gotten used to see clean sketches. (Think about Ethan x Gabriel, Ruby, Diaval, Eireann xKyouji). So I got to admit I was not expected for you to give me this, where the raw pencil lines dominates. (Of course, I've seen you use this rawer sketching/shading before on other works.)
So at first I was a bit surprised, but taking a longer look I found myself intrigued. I now feel that it adds to the image. Aurora comes from a different time-frame where the styles of arts we have now hadn't yet been invented. So I kind of get that charcoal feel. It adds to the mood, if you get what I mean. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am glad you didn't just sketch it and clean it up in Photoshop, but left it in this 'raw' shape. ^^

What makes this out-of-character:
Honestly? I cannot find anything. xD;;;;;
