This is from Chapter 4 of Lost Time [link] (my Inuyasha/Ranma 1/2 crossover fic 
Ranma is paranoid to fall asleep because he thinks that Inuyasha might take Akane away the second he closes his eyes. Inuyasha convinces Ranma that he has no intention of "taking his woman" (lol) and tells Ranma that if he's so paranoid, he could sleep next to Akane for all he cared. So, after deliberation, Ranma does just that... only with that love spell-shard around Akane's neck, she latches onto him. LOL poor Ranma has no idea.
